Who knew the Plains
could be so Great?
I began photographing landscapes in the Northern and Great Plains in 2024 when I was an archaeologist based in North Dakota. This job granted me access to lands few people ever get to see. And now you can.
I have been photographing landscapes, monuments, and archaeology in the United States, Canada, and Europe since the 1990s. I feel that my photos from North and South Dakota and Minnesota have a special resonance, that they were too good not to share. If you have the chance to drive—or better yet, walk—across the Northern Plains, you should. The land is subtly beautiful in all seasons.
